If you are reading this, then I don't think that I have to tell you about how great the Houseboating lifestyle is. However, the rest of the world is starting to catch on. I have come to this conclusion after seeing two accounts of Houseboats in the news today.
The houseboat from Sleepless in Seattle is on the market and it's high price tag is making headlines. I think I'd rather enjoy the houseboats of Norris Lake for that price! See the Sleepless in Seattle Boat Here.
The other thing that caught my eye this morning was on the Today Show. They are doing their "Where in the World is Matt Lauer?" Special and today he was in Amsterdam. While walking along the Amstel River there was a great shot of all the Houseboats that populated the river and apparently even serve as hotel rooms and apartment for tourist to rent. They mention the houseboats briefly here, but if you saw the broadcast, chances are you caught a better glimpse of what it would be like to houseboat in Amsterdam.
I was wondering when the rest of the world was going to catch on to the Great World of Houseboating. At least we know you don't have to spend 2.5 million to have a nice view on the water. And we have plenty of nice houseboats for rent right here in the USA - see your local marina for more details!
