Another great Houseboat Expo took place in Louisville, KY
March 5-7

Houseboat Magazine’s National Houseboat Expo opened on March 5th, 6th, and 7th with a spectacular display
of the latest styles and crazes. Houseboats, vendors, and a much larger crowd than last year’s filled the Louisville,
Kentucky site. We would like to thank the Houseboat Magazine crew for an outstanding job and support for the
best houseboat show ever.

This highly publicized show brings potential buyers from
all over the country. Folks as far as Fairbanks, Alaska s
topped by our booth to say hi. As in years past, YourNewBoat.com, was among all the excitement
showcasing its inventory to an enthusiastic crowd.
Optimism seemed to be in the air about increased boat
sales and a successful 2010 boating season.

Houseboat manufacturers like Stardust, Fantasy,
Thoroughbred, Horizon, Sailabration, Destination
Yachts, and Sharpe took up large floor spaces and
created lots of excitement with their current designs
and floor layouts.

Many options included beautiful built in entertainment stations

Double sided independent flat wide screens that rise up from within at the push of a remote button.
Awesome helms such as this one by Stardust consisted of a touch screen monitor that puts navigational maps,
instant weather, or camera feeds from front and back at your fingertips.

Conventional dining areas with rich hardwoods...
to elegant built in booths with sink and
preparation on one side and 4 barstool
plate settings on the other maximizing
your serving capacity.
Would you believe a waterfall!
4 x 7 foot waterfall in a hallway for your sleeping pleasure!

Roomy cuddies were
abound. Boats that were 20 plus wide
created larger sleeping areas.

Cuddy under master bed is illuminated with natural light from a
glass panel at the foot board eliminating
that cave like feeling.

Flip down weatherized lock box for upper deck......................Flip down flat screen master ceiling
Modern curved shower with
real hardwood flooring
contrasting beautiful
maple walls makes this
bathroom refreshing.
Master Staterooms are always breath taking.

Travis and Margo are busy working the crowd.

Beautiful swim platform with lab ramp!

Swim platforms-jetski ramps between pontoons
Swim platforms that tilt
using hydraulic lifts
or platforms for just relaxing.

Finding your way to the top level varied from boat to boat. Midship stairs.
Mid-side ship stairs

Another mid ship stairway design down to bottom level located under party top. Glass
door entrance on main floor in hallway. Drainage holes at entrance for rain water.
Rear stairs down to back deck. This design
placed a bathroom under the steps whereas
others placed a stacked washer and dryer
unit under them utilizing this space quite
efficiently.
Not to mention the underwater lighting.
Let’s not forget the Houseboat Expo Corn Hole Tournament!

Not all fun and games. Boaters attended seminars such as this surveying
class presented by Bill Burke, Marine Surveyer, SAMS-AMS, Northwood Marine.

Sharpe created a boat on top of THE BOAT at its
flybridge helm station with one of their signature features-
Open bow design!
Molded Party Tops
packaged with sound
and illumination were
the norm. Wash down
systems with hose reels
are becoming popular.

Relax in the sun on this queen size mat in front of the helm.

Stardust was present with a spectacular houseboat
Some lucky participants took part in a Poker Run which led to a Poker Game...

One lucky winner took home a FREE BOAT!!!!!

As always, it was a pleasure talking to those of you at the Houseboat Expo. For those that
we haven’t met yet; we are looking forward to it. Thanks for visiting. Brian, Travis, & Margo.
